In Loving Memory
One week ago today my friend and co-worker Mindee lost her little angel to a long standing disease that she has lived with the past 14 years of her life. I am so sad for her loss but so happy for Makenna to be happy and whole, and to live with her Heavenly father again.
Mindee was such an amazing mother to Makenna and stayed strong with her through all of her medical hardships.
Mindee is a single mother to two handsome boys and if anyone would like to help her out with funeral costs it would be very much appreciated. There is an account set up with Wells Fargo if you would like to donate.
Mindee is such an amazing friend and is so much fun to be around. She will light up a room with her contagious laugh and beautiful smile. I just want her to know how much I love her, she is such a beautiful person inside and out. Love ya Mind.

Makenna Lee Mecham Dominguez
Our beautiful angel Makenna was called home on Saturday, July 26, 2008 into the loving and caring arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was born a healthy, beautiful child on October 28, 1993 to Mindee Kay Thomas and Jerad Lee Dominguez.
She was such a joy and light in our lives. As a baby, she had a contagious and infectious smile that she shared easily and constantly with those around her. Unfortunately, at ten months of age, her sweet little smile was gone and she began her journey of medical hardship that she endured for 14 years. Even with the trial that was hers to bear, she brought such love into our home. The special opportunity to have her in our home was a blessing as she could lift us spiritually without saying a word. It was if she brought a piece of Heaven into every place she entered. Her eyes would light up when her family would walk into her room. Even though her body was immobile, Makenna would hold you in her sight as she followed you with her eyes. We could feel her love with this tiny gesture, as it was her only way of physically communicating her love and joy in seeing her family. Makenna also enjoyed listening to music. Her presence was one of peace, love and tranquility. We will dearly miss our little angel and the happiness, goodness, love and sweet spirit she brought into our lives.
After her long journey of struggle, hardship and physical pain, we can’t wait to see Makenna as a whole, happy and beautiful child, and to finally have the opportunity to hear her voice, talk with her and hold her once again. Her brothers and cousins have also longed for the chance to play with her and enjoy the association of their sister and cousin.
Even with the physical handicaps that came from her illness, Makenna was a beautiful young girl that resembled a porcelain doll with gorgeous bright eyes, flowing hair and a cute little nose. We are so happy for Makenna to now be able to stand tall and erect with a beautiful, whole body after fighting a good and valiant fight.
Makenna is survived by her parents, Mindee Kay Thomas and Jerad Lee Dominguez, her younger brothers, Jayden and Brayden Thomas of North Ogden; grandparents, Dean and Vickie Hennefer, Pleasant View; Alan and Kathie Mecham, West Haven; Dave and Judy Dominguez, Taylor, UT. Also surviving are many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Makenna was never alone. She enjoyed the constant and careful care of her special mother, Mindee Thomas, and her grandmothers, Vickie Hennefer and Judy Dominguez. We would like to thank her doctors and staff at both Primary Children’s Hospital and South Davis Community Hospital for their loving medical attention and care. The constant care she needed was a team effort for years. We would also like to thank all her family and friends for their support and concern throughout her life.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., with Bishop Jerry Shaw, officiating.
Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, an account in Makenna’s name has been established to offset funeral costs and donations may be made at any Wells Fargo Branch.
Makenna’s mission in life was valiantly and courageously fulfilled. A little of Makenna will live on in each of us until we meet again. WE LOVE YOU BABY GIRL.
