What Child Is This?

So for all of you that know how I love to dress my kids, you would never see them out in public in an UGLY outfit.

So today I went to pick the kids up from daycare and this is what I saw.

Oh my gosh! What happened?

So I opened the door and about freaked! I asked the teacher what happened and she said he had just thrown up all over himself. At that point I could not help but laugh. I never thought how you dress your kids could change the way they look but boy I was wrong. He is still so stinking cute but this picture is just WOW!

So here is a cute picture of him, I couldn't just have that funny pic up of him.

COSTUMES!

I think it would be fun for everyone to tell me what you could see me dressing up as for Halloween. I need some ideas, so let's hear it.

HELP!

Okay, so a lot of you live around and near the vicinity of my home and work and I am in MAJOR need of a babysitter for Kobe. Kalea is attending a daycare that will transport her to and from her charter school, but they do not have an opening for Kobe until December. This is so frustrating, I have been on their waiting list since January. So what I am getting at is if any of you know anyone who babysits in you neighborhood PLEASE! PLEASE! Let me know. I have completely run out of options. Most of them do not have openings for infants. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!
P.S. It is only mondays and tuesdays

In Loving Memory

One week ago today my friend and co-worker Mindee lost her little angel to a long standing disease that she has lived with the past 14 years of her life. I am so sad for her loss but so happy for Makenna to be happy and whole, and to live with her Heavenly father again.

Mindee was such an amazing mother to Makenna and stayed strong with her through all of her medical hardships.

Mindee is a single mother to two handsome boys and if anyone would like to help her out with funeral costs it would be very much appreciated. There is an account set up with Wells Fargo if you would like to donate.

Mindee is such an amazing friend and is so much fun to be around. She will light up a room with her contagious laugh and beautiful smile. I just want her to know how much I love her, she is such a beautiful person inside and out. Love ya Mind.

Makenna Lee Mecham Dominguez

October 28, 1993 - July 26, 2008

Makenna Lee Mecham Dominguez
Our beautiful angel Makenna was called home on Saturday, July 26, 2008 into the loving and caring arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was born a healthy, beautiful child on October 28, 1993 to Mindee Kay Thomas and Jerad Lee Dominguez.
She was such a joy and light in our lives. As a baby, she had a contagious and infectious smile that she shared easily and constantly with those around her. Unfortunately, at ten months of age, her sweet little smile was gone and she began her journey of medical hardship that she endured for 14 years. Even with the trial that was hers to bear, she brought such love into our home. The special opportunity to have her in our home was a blessing as she could lift us spiritually without saying a word. It was if she brought a piece of Heaven into every place she entered. Her eyes would light up when her family would walk into her room. Even though her body was immobile, Makenna would hold you in her sight as she followed you with her eyes. We could feel her love with this tiny gesture, as it was her only way of physically communicating her love and joy in seeing her family. Makenna also enjoyed listening to music. Her presence was one of peace, love and tranquility. We will dearly miss our little angel and the happiness, goodness, love and sweet spirit she brought into our lives.
After her long journey of struggle, hardship and physical pain, we can’t wait to see Makenna as a whole, happy and beautiful child, and to finally have the opportunity to hear her voice, talk with her and hold her once again. Her brothers and cousins have also longed for the chance to play with her and enjoy the association of their sister and cousin.
Even with the physical handicaps that came from her illness, Makenna was a beautiful young girl that resembled a porcelain doll with gorgeous bright eyes, flowing hair and a cute little nose. We are so happy for Makenna to now be able to stand tall and erect with a beautiful, whole body after fighting a good and valiant fight.
Makenna is survived by her parents, Mindee Kay Thomas and Jerad Lee Dominguez, her younger brothers, Jayden and Brayden Thomas of North Ogden; grandparents, Dean and Vickie Hennefer, Pleasant View; Alan and Kathie Mecham, West Haven; Dave and Judy Dominguez, Taylor, UT. Also surviving are many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Makenna was never alone. She enjoyed the constant and careful care of her special mother, Mindee Thomas, and her grandmothers, Vickie Hennefer and Judy Dominguez. We would like to thank her doctors and staff at both Primary Children’s Hospital and South Davis Community Hospital for their loving medical attention and care. The constant care she needed was a team effort for years. We would also like to thank all her family and friends for their support and concern throughout her life.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., with Bishop Jerry Shaw, officiating.
Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, an account in Makenna’s name has been established to offset funeral costs and donations may be made at any Wells Fargo Branch.
Makenna’s mission in life was valiantly and courageously fulfilled. A little of Makenna will live on in each of us until we meet again. WE LOVE YOU BABY GIRL.
Send condolences to the family at: www.lindquistmortuary.com

Happy Birthday/Father's Day Daddy

Happy Birthday Daddy!
Well my dad is un-lucky just like my mom when it comes to mothers day and fathers day, they always land so close together. Well this year for my dad they were one day apart. We were able to spend the whole weekend with him and it was so much fun. Me and my sister had our Lagoon work party yesterday so we invited my parents to come along. My dad is such a wonderful guy, Kalea brought her friend Luke to Lagoon and he fell in love with my dad and they would argue who was going to go on the next ride with him. It was so cute. My dad adores his grand kids and loves to spend every available minute with them.
I Hope you had a great Birthday dad. I Love You!
Most importantly Happy Fathers Day!

Dad, I just want you to know how important you are to me and my family. You are always there and willing to help whenever needed. Your grand kids adore you and love to see there Grampy. You have made so many fun memories for Kalea and she always looks forward to hanging out with you. You have taught her so much in her short life so far, and she is excelling in it because of the motivation and support you have given her.

And for me I definitely would not be where I am without you. You have pushed me to strive for the best and at times I hated it but now I look back at what you have given me, and love you so much for it. I love you dad, thanks for everything and I hope you had a good weekend.

Love,
Your Hugga Bug

I love this picture. My dad took her to Kiddie Kandids and had this taken and gave it to me for Christmas one year. It was so sweet. Kalea has had a very special bond with him because we lived in their home for the first two and a half years of her life.

Summer Singing Recital

Kalea has been involved with this singing program for almost two years now. They perform once in the spring and once in the fall. For every performance there is a theme, the theme this time was "Fun in the Sun." So they sing fun songs about summer and water.
Kalea and I had a lot of fun dressing her up for this performance.

They have a pre-school group and then a k-6 group and it is so fun to watch.
Kalea is such a little performer and really enjoys singing

We celebrated afterwards by going to Kalea's favorite place to eat-Chili's.

Our baby is GROWING up!

Kindergarten, Here she comes! Kalea graduated pre-school last week. She is so sad to leave, but so excited to start at the Arts Academy. Although she will not know what to do without Luke right by her side. They are 2 peas in a pod.

I am so sad to see my baby grow up and accomplish so many great things. I know there are only greater things to come but I sure am going to miss my little bug. She is growing up so fast.

For graduation they put on a cute little program, I think they are so fun to watch. The songs they sing are so cute and funny.

Kalea loved school (only because her best friend was there) I am sure there were other reasons too. Kalea and her teacher Miss Juli. Thanks to Miss Juli for being such a great teacher, Kalea loved you so much
Kalea lead everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance
Two PROUD parents and two cute lil' kids
Kalea and her friends. Hayden, Luke, Kalea, and Owen
Should I be worried that all of her friends are boys?

Thanks to everyone who was able to come. Kalea enjoyed having you there.

Congratulations baby! We love you so much! We cannot wait for what is waiting ahead for you. Keep your head high, be strong, follow your dreams, and you will go far.

Love,

Mom and Dad

Memorial weekend= fun weekend= I WISH

Kalea and her best friend Luke playing at fat cats before the movie

Cute cousins!
I want to play to mommy

So we started off our weekend with a bang! Kobe got immunizations on Friday. OUCH! 4 + a finger prick, poor guy. I would even cry if I had to get that many. Well I have never had either of my kids get fevers or sick from them, but of course this time I did. Poor Lil Kobe had a fever and just wanted to be cuddled all weekend, and no I am not complaining, but I sure felt bad. Then we were at insta-care on Sunday with Kalea Puking on the floor and being treated for a bladder infection. AHHHH!

Then It has to pour on Monday! Could this get any better? I had many kids anticipating going to Lagoon, but those plans were destroyed! So our whole family decided to see the new Narnia movie. Ask me if it was good. I don't know! I was dealing with an overly tired baby that wanted to be home in his crib no matter what. So we went for a ride in the truck while everyone enjoyed the movie. :( We then went to El Matador (I love that place) and that was the highlight of the weekend.

So I guess I did have a good weekend, because I was with the ones I love, but I did not enjoy the events that surrounded us. From the other blogs I have read so far it sounds like you all had a great weekend, maybe next time I will have to come with you! :)

Weekend trip to Lake Mead

Casey TRYING to surf behind the boat

We decided last minute we would head out to Lake Mead with one of Casey's friends to go boating. We contemplated whether to go or not. Well I am so glad we decided to go, we had a blast. It was about 100 degrees and it felt so good.

We made some great friends and had a lot of fun hanging out with all of you. Thanks Brad, Brit, Kyle, Kelli, Brandy, and Brandon. I hope we can all hang out again sometime soon.

Casey has been wanting to buy a boat for so long and I never really knew why, but after this trip I realized why. So maybe in the next few years we can reach that goal. (and for some reason mabe gas will go back down. :) yeah right)

Well I have not been boating since my
para sailing accident a couple of years ago so I am always a little hesitant to get in the water. I have never wake boarded before and I was kind of scared to try because I did not want to make a fool of myself. I got talked into it and it was so much fun. I was able to get up on my first try (not for very long, but I did it) Then after a few pointers I did pretty good for my first time, now I am excited to try again sometime.
Casey has not wake boarded a whole lot, but like anything else he just catches right on.
This is me, Abby, and Kelli getting whipped around on the tube. I could not hold on for the life of me because my arms were so tired after wake boarding.

Thanks so much to the Brown family for letting us tag along we had so much fun.

Happy Mother's Day and Birthday Mommy

Ashley, Mom (Kay), and Andrea (Sister) and Yes I am 8.5 mo. Prego

HaPpY BiRtHdAy
AnD
MoThEr'S dAy!

My mom is very unlucky to have her Birthday and Mother's Day always so close to together.
Well this year they landed together.
Sorry Mom.

I just want you to know how much I love you. I appreciate everything you do for us and the kids. Kalea loves spending time with you, and doing crafts with you. I love that you will take time with her to do fun things like that. That is something that she will always be able to look back on and remember.

You are a wonderful woman and work very hard for everything.
You are an amazing mom and friend!
Thanks for everything!

I love you!
Happy Mothers Day

Oh, and happy Mother's Day to me.
I have two WONDERFUL children that I love so much!
I am one lucky girl.
Funny Story:
My parents were nice enough to watch my children from sun up to sun down on Saturday while we went shopping for Mother's day and went to the ReAL game. So my cute little dad took Kalea and Kobe to Hallmark to pick me out a card. Well Sunday morning Kalea wakes me up with hugs and kisses and shoves a present in my face. So at this point I can barely open my eyes, So I take out the tissue paper and open one eye to find a WEBKINZ! So I just had to laugh.(For those of you that do not know what that is, it is a stuffed animal that you take care of on the Internet like a virtual pet. Very popular children's toy.) She said she picked it out just for me. Well I have not had it in my possession since I opened it, she says she is taking very good care of it for me. How nice of her. :)

A Walk Down Memory Lane

When you think of the Layton park you probably think of ducks, right?
Well, not me.
Growing up I spent a lot of time at the park with my Grandparents and my extended family. (on my mom's side.) My Grandma passed away when I was very young, but I do remember her love for the park. Her and my Grandpa would go for a walk there almost everyday.
When I was 12 my grandpa passed away and our family decided they needed to make a contribution to the park in memory of my grandparents.
We donated 4 ducks (I think, give or take one) and also this bench my kids are sitting on. There is a plaque on the bench that says
In Loving Memory Of
John and Irene Martinez
It is so special to me to be able to see this landmark every time I go there, and to remember the love they had for this beautiful park
Kalea loves to show everyone and is so proud of it. You may have seen it, it is right below the playground at the main little pond.
I never thought this post would make me sad, but it made me bawl like a baby thinking about how much I miss my grandparents.
Well on a lighter note. We went to the park again with cousins and had a blast. We bought lunch and had a picnic (Yes, I was too lazy to pack a real picnic) Then we played on the playground for awhile before we fed the ducks.
Tanner, Hallie, Kalea, and Carson

Kobe absolutely loves the swing, he screams when I pull him out of it. So of course I put him back in and keep on pushing. I am such a pushover.
This picture makes me laugh because the ducks started swarming her and she thought it was cool at first, but then she started to get a little scared. I do not blame her because I think they are cute, but one bit me when I was little so I have always kind of stayed back.
Kobe loved the ducks too.

Hallie and Kalea
enjoying each others company

I just love this picture!
What cute little kids.

Thanks again everyone for coming, we had such a good time.

P.S. If you are ever going to the park stop by the Wonder Bread store in Layton and ask for duck feed and it's only $1.00. They give you 5-6 loaves of bread. What a deal.

ReAL SALT LAKE

We are excited to announce that we are proud owners of ReAL season tickets. Casey has been waiting so long for this day to come. We were waiting to get them until they got into their new stadium but in order to get them by my brother (who already owns them) we had to get them this season so we could choose where we want next season. But I am not complaining like I said before, I love watching sports. I never played soccer growing up but I really enjoy it. We have 8th row mid-field which are pretty good seats but hope to get better next year.
They played last night against the LA Galaxy it ended in a tie 2-2 but it was a very intense game.
HOTTIE ALERT:
Well there was something more than soccer that I came to see in this game. His name is
DAVID BECKHAM
And he is GORGEOUS!
(Except his teeth are very crooked)
But other than that. Oh My GOODNESS!
Casey is OK with this because he is married to Posh Spice from the Spice Girls and he thinks she is Gorgeous, so we are even.
Casey has idolized David since he was little kid. David Beckham was signed to the English Premier league at age 14, and has been an idol to many kids since.
He did score both of the Galaxy's goals last night with his famous shot "Bend it like Beckham." It was amazing to see him play live, not only do I think he is hot, he is a great player also.

He is even nice from behind :)

I hope he stays with the MLS for awhile because it sure is nice to watch him play :)

Thanks honey for the tickets, I love spending one on one time with you, You are the Best!
